One of those moments in life: Wow! Over the last few days, something remarkable happened. Interestingly, I had planned for this but didn’t realize the significance until it happened.
We launched a podcast show, Adventures in the Heart of Children’s Book Authors; some might think starting a podcast show is remarkable.
The Testing Ground
However, the first nine episodes of our podcast set the stage to get to the real goal behind our podcast. We wanted to introduce children’s book readers and aspiring children’s book authors to the Children’s Book authors.
We are excited to share a significant change with you; yesterday, we went from being podcast guests to interviewing children’s book authors who were not part of our family.
One of those moments in life: Wow!
Marketing a self-published children’s book is not for the faint of heart; it has taken several months to figure out the best strategy to promote a children’s book.
The advice we received is that you also need to have a website for people to find you, but a great website is not the be-all and end-all.
After trying different marketing and promotion approaches for our children’s book, The Adventures of Kaboose the Rocky Mountain Bear, we decided to hang out with like-minded people and other children’s book authors.
Like any other skill, you need to practice and learn the technology.
Like always, my grandchildren have humoured Papa (as they call me). They have not only helped write over 38 books in our children’s book series but are also narrators, co-authors, and our first guest children’s book authors on our podcast show.
I have been amazed that starting a podcast show dedicated to Children’s Book Readers and Authors would have the reach the reach it has had. We not only have listeners in 15 countries.
The first four podcast guests, not my grandkids, are children’s book authors who contacted me through their agents or on their own and asked if I would be interested in having them as podcast guests.
One of those moments in life: Wow!
We are adopting the philosophy that if you scratch my Children’s Book author back, we will scratch your Children’s book author back.
We have launched our Children’s Book Readers and Book Authors podcast show, Adventures in the Heart of Children’s Book Authors.
I didn’t contact my Facebook family and friends to listen to our new podcast show.
I loved this because I have been hard on myself and have wondered if I am good enough to be a podcast host. Perfection is not a good friend.
Doing and Learning are great friends.
Yesterday and today, we launched two podcast episodes with two remarkable children’s book authors: Terri Lilga, her book Santa’s Simon, and Chelsea Chong Kim, and Carol the Carrot Bowls for the Salad Bowl.
Please give Episodes 12, From Classroom to Carrot: An Inspiring Journey to a Vibrant and 13, Unwrapping Inspiration: The Heartfelt Story of ‘Santa’s Simon, two excellent guests, a listen.
If you are not a consumer of children’s books now, please forward this to a parent, grandparent, family member, or friend because the one thing we can all count on is new children being born every minute of every day.
Thank you in advance for your support.
